Allow me to introduce Oliver. He is the newest member of our family. Don't let the breed fool you, he is a ham. He loves to hop up on the couch with Amy and I. He also likes to sneak on the bed when I am not looking. He will murf up to you if you want.
OK, now that that is out of the way. He is flipping awesome. If you don't know the story here is a brief version of it. You should know by now Amy and I bought a house, and I am sitting in it typing right now. But I will get to why that is relevant in a minute.
For some time now I knew for my next dog I wanted to get a Pit Bull. I knew I wanted him to be male, either blue or black and white in color and I wanted to name him Oliver. Now if you clicked that little blue hyper link you would see where I got his name from. Well flash forward to I believe October 10.
Amy and I had an appointment to look at a few houses. We didn't have high hopes, because so far they had been lack luster to say the least. We burned through a few in a hurry, with nothing looking promising, and we set off on our way to check out one that I thought looked OK and Amy hated. And a second house across the street. Now the second house only had a few shots of the outside of the house, and they didn't look to appealing, but it being across the street we figured why not.
Well we ended up hitting the second house first and we were blown away. We loved it. We then went across the street to see the first house and we were far from impressed. We talked about the house we were surprised we loved with the Realtor, then we all parted ways for the day. The day was looking promising after all.
With a few hours to kill before we were going to meet up with friends, I said lets go to Griffin Pond! After some hesitation on Amy's part we went for it. We were on a mission to find a cat Amy and I rescued a month before. We did not find the cat, but we saw this face looking at us through a fence:
Low and behold it was a well tempered black and white Pit Bull male already named Oliver. It was like a Christmas Miracle! After a few visits to the shelter to visit him, we knew he had to be ours. And now he is. So go to the shelter and get yourself an great animal! Or help them out. They are in need and there are some very nice girls working there.
Go to Griffin Pond's website, or go to your local SPCA and help them out! Walk a dog, drop off a donation or just go look at the animals and pet them.
That is all, carry on.
